JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Attorney General Jim Hood has launched the
Mississippi Intellectual Property Theft Task Force.
Hood announced the program Tuesday along with representatives of the
Recording Industry Association of America and the International
AntiCounterfeiting Coalition.
Hood says two members of his
staff have worked with the Recording Industry of America and the Motion
Picture Association of America to identify CDs and DVDs as counterfeit.
Hood says the task force's aim is to preserve legitimate commerce and
protecting citizens from the underground black market.
Hood says the task force will provide training for other law enforcement agencies.
